Responsible for owning and developing the DANTE optical and IP network. Working in close cooperation with the equipment vendors, the network operator (The DANTE NOC), the DANTE product managers and the end users of the network the NREN (National Research and Education Networks) to make Dante the class leader in its delivery of services.

Responsible for all aspects of Indigos engineering department including field based engineers, NOC engineers and support staff. Budget holder for the engineering group ensuring all cost reduction targets were met year on year. Responsible for holding the service partner relationships and contracts for Indigos sub-contractors and acting as Indigos representative during contract negotiations.

Responsible for the building and staffing of the new National Roads Telecommunications System (NRTS) NOC for Fluor Daniels Ltd. Heavily involved in the structuring of all NOC documentation negotiating SLA’s and KPI’s with the end customer. Developing and implementing all processes and procedures in place to make sure all the negotiated KPI’s and SLA’s were met.

Responsible for running the technical support of the Interoute network. Providing support to facilitate the implementation of new products, equipment and processes. Doing in depth fault analysis reports to improve network performance. Helping first line, service delivery and field staff with fault rectification and provisioning issues. Tasked with providing senior management with metrics on NOC performance and ensuring all KPI’s are attained

Responsible for the operation and maintenance of DWDM, SDH, ATM and VOIP equipments and the provisioning circuits for the Alcatel customer base utilising various platforms and data rates from 2Meg to 800Gig using Alcatel, Lucent, Nortel and Cisco systems. Working as a senior engineer to give 24-hour technical support to the customer. Acting as M1 escalation to junior engineers.

Responsible for the installation, testing and commissioning of all aspects of the Royal Air Forces communication and ground radar systems worldwide regardless of environmental conditions: including UHF and VHF communications systems, switching and network controllers, professional and covert management radios. Remaining flexible enough to cope with changing design requirements and operational commitments
