Job Description:
Johnson & Johnson, is recruiting for a Director Health Tech- Cardiopulmonary with dual strengths in strategic foresight and operational delivery to be located in Allschwil, Switzerland.
This role is at the heart of cross-sector convergence. You will be responsible for operationalizing key initiatives that bring together the capabilities of J&J’s pharmaceutical and MedTech sectors. You will also contribute strategic insight that helps define future-state models of care in atrial fibrillation, heart failure, acute coronary syndromes, and related cardiopulmonary conditions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Operational Execution of Cross-Sector Initiatives
- Drive the day-to-day execution of a cross- sector working group that integrates MedTech solutions with pharmaceutical innovation.
- Lead the development of implementation plans, milestone tracking, and governance updates across cross- and multi-functional teams.
- Ensure an end-to-end alignment with internal timelines, quality, and regulatory requirements.
2. Strategic Vision and Program Planning
- Shape the long-term strategic roadmap for cardiopulmonary collaboration across sectors, identifying areas for synergy, innovation, and future growth.
- Translate high-level strategies into actionable operational workstreams that are measurable, prioritized, and scalable.
- Provide strategic input into pipeline development, TPPs, and lifecycle strategy in collaboration with clinical, regulatory, and commercial teams.
3. Cross-Sector Integration and Governance
- Serve as a central connector across J&J’s Innovative Medicine and MedTech teams, ensuring harmonized execution of joint initiatives.
- Act as the program operations lead in cross-sector governance councils.
- Facilitate information flow, alignment of objectives, and decision-making at the enterprise level.
4. External Collaboration Execution
- Coordinate with external collaborators—academic groups, digital health partners, technology vendors—to ensure program delivery and performance.
- Oversee the contracting, onboarding, and execution of co-development or co-piloting initiatives.
- Drive value realization from partnerships through robust operational oversight and stakeholder engagement.
5. Evidence Generation & Clinical Integration
- Support the execution of feasibility studies, real-world pilots, and hybrid clinical trials involving digital endpoints or MedTech interfaces.
- Ensure seamless integration of these initiatives into the broader clinical development and commercialization pathways.

Education:
- MD or MD/PhD
- Minimum 8–10 years of experience in clinical development, health technology, or medical device/pharmaceutical strategy.
Required Technical Knowledge and Skills:
- Proven ability to manage external partnerships and work across functional and organizational boundaries.
- Deep understanding of cardiovascular care pathways, digital health applications, and regulatory trends.
- Proven ability to define and lead projects and/or initiatives to improve efficiency/quality of internal processes
- Strong communication, influencing, and stakeholder engagement skills, with a high degree of cross-cultural and cross-sector collaboration experience.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically.
- Ability to work well in a dynamic environment and be able to prioritize and respond to changing needs of the business.
- Good organizational skills, able to work collaboratively as part of a team in a matrix environment and independently.
- Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills with strong ability to persuade and influence at the project team level and management level.
- Experience in MedTech–Pharma collaboration, especially in cardiovascular medicine.
- Familiarity with digital biomarkers, remote patient monitoring platforms, or hybrid clinical trial models.
- Experience in portfolio shaping or platform strategy within a global matrixed organization.
- Working knowledge of the use of Microsoft suite of software products including Excel and Word
- Experience and knowledge of Good Clinical Practices
- Excellent English, other languages advantageous.
- Good computer systems and software skills.
Special Training or Certification:
- Experience in disease area’s AFib, heart failure, ACS, heart recovery or pulmonary hypertension preferred.
