The Position
Field Service Engineer – Laboratory Diagnostics (m/f/d)
Region Lausanne | Home-office based
Abbott AG, based in Baar (Switzerland), is currently hiring a Field Service Engineer / Service Technician (m/f/d) for the Core Lab Division, covering the Lausanne region and Western Switzerland.
This position is home-office based in the Lausanne area.
As a Field Service Engineer, you will be the technical expert for Abbott’s laboratory diagnostic instruments and automation systems and the main technical contact for our customers on site.
What you will do:
- Install laboratory instruments at customer sites
- Perform safety checks and preventive maintenance
- Troubleshoot instruments and reagents
- Train users and perform customer instructions
- Carry out hardware and software updates
- Plan and execute scheduled maintenance visits
- Support sales colleagues during joint customer visits
- Manage spare parts independently
What we are looking for:
- Degree in Biomedical Engineering
or completed technical training in medical technology, electronics or electromechanics or similar education - Confident use of modern IT systems; basic network knowledge is an advantage
- Strong communication skills and customer-oriented mindset
- Structured, solution-driven way of working
- Good English skills (spoken and written – internal communication, documentation)
- Fluent French (daily customer communication)
- Willingness to travel within Switzerland, including occasional multi-day assignments
