In this role, you will have the opportunity to adapt and implement the sales strategy for the designated area, in line with the global sales strategy. Each day, you will lead, develop, and coach a field-based sales organization, enabling a professional and sustainable front-end sales approach across direct and indirect channels in the DACH region. You will also showcase your expertise by driving sales development through the definition and execution of a regional sales strategy aligned with global business line objectives.
The role has a strong front-end sales focus within the ABB Robotics Business Segment General Industries and covers the DACH region. You will operate in a multi-channel sales environment, working both in direct end customer engagement and indirectly via system integrators and partners. While the business is mainly product-driven, system solutions are also an integral part of the portfolio.
The customer landscape consists of a limited number of key accounts, complemented by a broad base of small and mid-sized customers, requiring a structured, scalable, and partner-oriented sales approach.

This role contributes to the Robotics Business Segment – General Industries in DACH. Main stakeholders are Sales, System Integrators, Channel Partners, Product Management, regional and global Business Line Management, and regional/country sales organizations.
You will be mainly accountable for:
Translating global sales and business line strategies into effective local and regional execution within a matrix organization.
Driving long-term business development and sustainable growth across the DACH region.
Leading and developing a geographically distributed field sales organization, fostering a modern, cooperative leadership culture.
Managing front-end sales activities across direct and indirect channels.
Steering front-end sales activities across direct and indirect channels and ensuring consistent sales execution.
Representing the DACH region in close alignment with global stakeholders and contributing regional market input to global strategy discussions.

Qualifications for the role
You are immersed in front-end sales methodologies, solution and value selling approaches, and stakeholder-oriented sales processes and the industrial automation / robotics / manufacturing market
You have several years of experience in sales, business development, or commercial leadership roles within an international environment, including proven initial people leadership responsibility
Highly adept in working within a matrix organization and collaborating with global teams
You are passionate about strategic thinking, long-term business development and stakeholder management
Degree in Bachelor’s in engineering, industrial engineering, business administration, or a comparable field
You are at ease communicating in German and English (French and Italian are a plus)
You are willing to travel approximately 60%, primarily within the DACH region
You hold a current driving license valid in DACH and a valid work permit where required
