Your Responsibilities

• Define and manage product and technology roadmaps in close collaboration with Product Line Tools
• Oversee the innovation portfolio, including budget, timing, and quality, and ensure smooth project execution and market introduction
• Lead and develop a high-performing team with an open, inclusive culture
• Take full responsibility for team performance and foster individual career development
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and academic partners
• Represent Oerlikon at scientific conferences and industry events
• Coach and guide effective execution of R&D projects, ensuring transparency and efficiency

Your Profile

• PhD in physics, materials science, or a related discipline
• Expertise in PVD coating development for cutting and/or forming tools
• Strong knowledge of customer requirements, markets, and applications in this field
• Proven experience in managing R&D and product development projects
• First leadership experience and understanding of financial processes (budgeting, forecasting)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; fluent in English (German preferred)
• Willingness to travel up to 20%
