A modern data platform on Azure Databricks is being built and operated for a Swiss financial institution. The focus is data governance with Unity Catalog (UC), including secure, granular access for business users and strict compliance in a regulated environment.

• Unity Catalog setup & configuration: Initial configuration, catalogs/schemas/permissions; integration with ADLS, Key Vault, Azure Data Factory; support within a hub-and-spoke setup; close collaboration with internal platform engineering.
• Best practices & governance: Run usage analyses; define and implement policies and security/compliance standards.
• Documentation & architecture: Document architectural decisions, configuration steps, and lessons learned; provide clear, audience-appropriate technical documentation.

-->Hybrid, 2–3 days/week on site in Basel; remote within Switzerland possible.

• Proven hands-on experience with Azure Databricks (focus on Unity Catalog) and strong knowledge of Azure data services & cloud architecture.
• Experience in data governance, security & compliance in the financial sector.
• Excellent technical writing and stakeholder communication skills.
• Fluent English (mandatory).
