The Position
At Roche, we are committed to delivering greater benefits to our patients. To achieve this, we are seeking a hands-on Operational Excellence expert to drive breakthrough performance improvements and build long-term capabilities.
This role is about delivering step-change improvements by embedding structured, data-driven methodologies that enhance efficiency, quality, and overall operational performance. You will work with site teams, integrating traditional Lean principles with cutting-edge digital solutions to drive transformation using our "Diagnose, Design, Implement, and Sustain" methodology.
The Opportunity
As a key driver of impact within our team, you will have the following responsibilities:
On-Site Performance Improvement: Partner with local teams to identify and implement measurable and sustainable operational enhancements.
Breakthrough Performance Gains: Lead structured initiatives that go beyond incremental changes, driving significant improvements in quality, efficiency, and productivity.
Sustainable Capability Building: Coach and develop teams to adopt best-in-class methodologies, embedding long-term operational excellence and providing training documentation.
Systematic, Data-Driven Approach: Apply proven frameworks and attend necessary certifications on Roche instrumentation to ensure measurable, repeatable success.
Technical Support & Integration: Provide post-sales support for new parameters and collaborate with Sales & Technical Support on troubleshooting and software upgrades.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Engage with all levels of the organization to drive alignment, secure buy-in, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Performance Monitoring: Define and track key performance indicators to ensure initiatives deliver lasting business value.
Who You Are
We are looking for a true change agent who meets the following requirements:
Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with at least 3 years of relevant application experience in performance improvement or pharmaceutical manufacturing ideally in a CDMO, Pharmaceutical or Biotechnology company. An Advanced education ie.: MsC in Engineering, Manufacturing Science or other related field is a plus. Experience in Management Consulting firms in addition to industry experience is a plus.
Communication Mastery: Proficient written and verbal communication in both German and English, with the ability to influence and lead cultural change.
Transformational Mindset: Demonstrated success in delivering transformational impact—not just incremental improvements—in operational environments.
Technical & Digital Savvy: Strong understanding of digital tools and Roche platforms, with an analytical mindset capable of translating data into actionable strategies.
Leadership & Collaboration: A hands-on leader with proven collaboration skills, capable of coaching teams and challenging the status quo.
