Talascend is currently seeking a Reactor Enclosure System Component Design Engineer for a remote, contract opportunity with our client.

Overview

The role involves performing mechanical piping and pressure vessel component design, including detailed design requirements and code application basis work.

Responsibilities

• Perform ASME design specification detailed design requirements and code application basis work, including technical reviews and independent design verification functions
• Perform critical dimension and functional limit analyses and evaluations
• Perform subcomponent joint design standards and criteria specification work
• Perform gaskets and seals selections and specification work
• Qualification indoctrination to quality program to perform preparation or verification activities

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or other relevant equivalent program from an accredited university
• 5-10 years of relevant experience

Requirements

• Knowledge of ASME BPVC Section III, Division 1, particularly in subsections NB, NG, and NF
• Certifying Engineer, qualified to ASME Sect III, Mandatory Appendix XXIII, for reactor support components (Subsection NF) desired
• Strong communication skills desired
