The "AI-Powered Grid Analysis" supports the MCCS product line "Grid Analysis" and contributes to the development, maintenance and optimization of modern, user-centered web applications. The focus is on applications for grid and voltage control that make a significant contribution to the digitalization and efficiency increase of grid management at 50Hertz. The implementation is carried out in coordination with the agile development teams, the central design units and other internal and external bodies. In addition to the further development of innovative frontends, the focus is on the integration of current UI/UX standards and efficient collaboration in a cloud- and container-based DevOps environment (Azure, Kubernetes).
As part of the project, innovative solutions are being developed to enable optimization in grid operation. The aim is to precisely calculate and predict the effects of operational measures on the power grid, taking into account the current grid situation, and thus to make essential processes such as voltage stability, congestion management and redispatch more efficient. The aim is to create decision-making aids that provide reliable, flexible and secure operational management in the long term – even in view of increasing complexity and decentralization in the energy system.
The "AI-Powered Grid Analysis" Product Team creates innovative solutions for analyzing load flows in electrical transmission grids. By integrating traditional numerical methods with advanced artificial intelligence, we address the evolving challenges of tomorrow’s power systems. Our tools enable power grid operators to achieve safe, reliable, and cost-efficient system operation. Must-haves:
- Proven experience in developing numerical algorithms for power grid or energy grid analysis
- Hands-on knowledge in implementing and optimizing data pipelines for HPC environments
- Strong skillset in a HPC environment and typical lan-guages (e.g. Python, C++, Kubernetes, Rust)
- Experience in applying professional coding best prac-tices (code quality & testing)
Nice-to-have:
- Experience applying AI and ML methods in industrial or research settings
- Familiarity with HPC cloud platforms and selection of related hardware
- Experience in the development of electrical engineering tools / grid models (CGMES, UCT )
- Ability to document work outcomes in a structured and transparent manner)
Languages:
- Professional proficiency in English and German
