What to Expect

Location: Berlin, GermanyTime Type: Full TimeDuration: 6 MonthsStart Date: March 2026As an intern engineer for the Body structures Team, you will be part of one of the most dynamic engineering teams and, under experts’ guidance, you will be responsible for designing, releasing and launching body in white components and assemblies, gaining valuable knowledge of current and future vehicle architectures as well as the production line. You will be exposed to a variety of manufacturing methods, including but not limited to Stampings, Castings and Extrusions. You will be part of the team responsible for delivering a variety of crucial attributes like crash Safety, Torsional and Bending stiffness in the most cost and mass efficient way possible. You will have the chance to gain experience and develop skills required to become a vehicle engineer, directly reporting to the Engineering Manager of Body Structures.

What You’ll Do

• Improve skills related to packaging & layout within vehicle architecture
• Apply you fundamentals engineering knowledge to complete and release component & sub-system design, utilizing a mix of in-house design and supplier engineering where required.
• Support overall vehicle development milestones and prototype/production build events.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams within the Tesla (Vehicle Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering and Procurement groups) to ensure system manufacturing and assembly feasibility and serviceability.
• Apply your technical knowledge to interpret CAE simulation results and integrate recommendations into product design.
• Account for part and assembly manufacturing, working with internal and external stakeholders.
• Help senior colleagues to work on detail design including datum & fixation strategy, GD&T

What You’ll Bring

• Pursuing or recently completed a degree with emphasis on Mechanical or Automotive engineering
• Strong background in engineering fundamentals, materials, part and assembly design
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence across the organization
• Hands-on innovator high level of creativity
• Proficiency in CAD (Catia V5/V6 is a plus)
• Eligibility to work full-time in Germany
