The Constructions & Security (ConSec) team within the Data Center Management (DCM) department is responsible for the planning, construction, operation, maintenance, upkeep, and documentation of IPB's building structures and security systems. The DCM ConSec team plans all necessary structural and organizational measures and manages and monitors their implementation by suppliers. Furthermore, DCM ConSec provides various services to internal and external clients, such as logistics, consulting, project management, and documentation.
Your area of responsibility
As a project manager in the DCM ConSec team, you will plan, calculate, manage, and document small and large construction projects for the expansion and modernization of colocation space and supply and security infrastructure in data centers. You will ensure that projects meet deadlines, budgets, and quality standards, as well as comply with all relevant regulations. This involves coordinating and communicating with architects, authorities, and suppliers (structural engineers, fire protection engineers, etc.) and overseeing projects from conception to completion.
Planning, design, cost calculation, construction supervision, acceptance and documentation of measures to modify the infrastructures assigned to the area of expertise
Creation of complex work plans for (large) infrastructure projects
Creation of construction site layout plans as well as development of construction site logistics and equipment scheduling
Supporting project teams during the bidding and execution phases
Project management and supplier management (work planning, coordination and control of trades)
Responsibility for the planning, execution, control and documentation of projects
Responsibility for the material flow necessary to implement the measures
Independent interventions in the event of unplanned infrastructure incidents
Definition and implementation of organizational structures and work processes
Planning and, if necessary, taking over on-call duty for DCM ConSec
your qualification
Completed studies in the field of civil engineering, architecture, qualification as a state-certified technician (m/f/d) or comparable qualification
Initial professional experience in the planning and implementation of construction projects, ideally in the data center environment / with a focus on the tasks outlined.
Knowledge of the relevant standards and regulations (e.g. DIN standards, HOAI, VOB)
Experience with project management tools such as OpenProject is an advantage.
Willingness to question and continuously optimize existing processes and standards
A high level of analytical and conceptual skills as well as an independent working style.
Entrepreneurial thinking and acting
Good organizational skills and able to withstand stress under time pressure
Good communication and conflict resolution skills, as well as knowledge of escalation management.
PC skills (MS Office, MS VISIO, CAD software)
