An der Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin ist im Rahmen einer DFG-geförderten Sachbeihilfe eine Stelle als Doktorand*in (m/w/d) im Bereich der molekularen Virologie zu besetzen. Die Stelle dient der Durchführung eines experimentellen Promotionsprojekts mit Schwerpunkt auf Virus-Wirts-Interaktionen auf Proteinebene.

Das Projekt ist in ein international vernetztes Forschungsumfeld eingebettet und baut auf aktuellen hochrangigen Publikationen auf: u.a. Nature Microbiology 2023, PMID: 37550507; Nature Communications 2025. PMID: 40691152

Die Stelle im Überblick

Your responsibilities:

• Scientific collaboration on an experimental doctoral project
  Planning, conducting, and evaluating virological, proteomic, molecular, and cell biology experiments
• Investigating virus-host protein interactions and cellular signaling pathways
• Documenting and preparing scientific data
• Contributing to publications and scientific presentations
• Collaboration with internal and external cooperation partners
• You will be engaged in scientific work and will be given reasonable time for your own scientific qualification in accordance with §110 (4) sentence 3 BerlHG (Berlin Higher Education Act).

Your profile:

• Completed scientific university degree (master's/diploma) in biology, biochemistry, molecular medicine, or a comparable subject
• Very good knowledge of molecular and cellular biology
• Strong scientific interest, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills
• Experimental skills and a structured and careful approach to work
• Ability to work in a team, initiative, and communication skills

• Pay grade E13 TVöD-VKA-K. Here you will find all information about the salary and collective agreement.
• Working hours are part-time at 65.00% of the regular weekly working hours, which is currently 25.03 hours per week, according to the collective agreement.
  The position is limited until March 31, 2029, as it is tied to the project duration
• We offer 30 days of vacation as standard
