The Translational Thoracic Pathology research group works on translational questions related to various neoplasms of the thorax. Our particular focus is on investigating predictive tumor characteristics in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). In close collaboration with the Charité Lung Tumor Center, we characterize clinical cohorts at the histomorphological, immunohistochemical, and molecular-pathological levels.
Overview of the position
- Your main task is the analysis of single-cell and spatial transcriptomics datasets from a translational research project on lung cancer.
- You independently perform bioinformatic analyses, test tumor-biological and clinical hypotheses, develop approaches to validate your results, and create publication-ready figures.
- Depending on your interests and methodological focus, you will support other translational research projects within the group.
- You will be employed as a research associate: According to §110 (4), sentence 3 of the Berlin Higher Education Act (BerlHG), research staff are granted an appropriate amount of time within their working hours for their own academic further qualification.
What we are looking for
- You have completed a degree in bioinformatics or in biology/medicine/biotechnology with a strong bioinformatics focus.
- You are proficient in the programming language R.
- You already have experience in analyzing single-cell or spatial transcriptomics datasets.
- You work independently, conscientiously, and with great attention to detail.
- You are interested in linking bioinformatic analyses with medical and tumor-biological research questions.

Information regarding the position
- Paygrade XXX according to TVöD VKA-K. Your job grade depends on your job qualification whereas the experience level depends on the number of working years. The yearly gross salary is hereby provided based on a full time position excluding yearly bonus and additional pay. You may find further information here
- Working hours can be part-time from XX or full-time with up to 38.5 hours per week. Please indicate how many hours you would like to work per week
