About the role

You will become the lead of Forto’s financial risk management team, working on all topics related to credit, liquidity, interest and exchange rate risks. Being the key shaper of Forto’s global financial risk management setup, you work together with various teams and stakeholders across the organization and drive your own projects and initiatives from day one.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all financial risk management and insurance efforts , supported by 1 FTE you will focus on assessing risks for business, transaction proposals and recommending effective mitigation strategies.

• Oversee global credit management , ensuring compliance with internal policies and guidelines. You and your team will manage day-to-day credit risk assessments and establish credit limits in collaboration with the Sales organization.

• Manage Forto’s insurance landscape , supported by an insurance broker, you are responsible to ensure that Forto is sufficiently covered in all areas of the business. You are the owner for Forto’s cargo insurance product (value added service) and partner with the commercial organization to increase profits.

• Drive continuous risk monitoring by keeping a close watch on customer credit ratings and providing hands-on support with credit analyses. You will also be responsible for reporting key insights to Finance and Sales leadership.

• Serve as a primary point of contact for internal stakeholders, credit and other insurers, and other external service providers on all credit and insurance related matters.

• Conduct company-wide risk training to foster a risk-aware culture.

• Regularly brief executive leadership on critical cases and recent developments in the risk landscape.

• Contribute to special projects focused on scaling our financial risk management framework, including the development and improvement of systems and processes.

Required Skills and Experience

• 3+ years working experience in the area of financial risk management or similar role at a fast growing company

• Knowledge in finance (especially insurance), accounting or in the logistics industry is a plus

• Analytical and diligent way of working with a high level of attention to detail and ability to prioritize and overcome setbacks to deliver best results. SQL skills are a plus.

• Team player with hands-on mentality and effective communication skills to guarantee good stakeholder management

• Fluent language proficiency in English, German as a plus
