Salary: According to TVöD Bund, pay grade E10
Location: Berlin, Germany
Department & reporting line: Finance & Administration / Head of Unit Finance Management
- Develop and review project budgets in line with donor regulations
- Monitor project budgets, expenditures, and financial performance
- Prepare timely and accurate financial reports for internal and external stakeholders
- Support project managers on the financial planning of project activities and donor financial requirements
- Identify, assess and mitigate financial and operational risks associated with projects
- Provide advice on contracts with project partners and service providers
- Review and approve invoices, travel expenses, partners’ financial reports and payments, including required supporting documentation.
- Support the preparation of annual financial statements.
Your knowledge, experience & skills
- University degree in finance, accounting, business administration or auditing.
- At least 3 year’s experience in financial management of donor-funded projects
- Knowledge of donor funding regulations (e.g. German Federal Foreign Office, European Commission)
- Good understanding of procurement and funding processes
- Experience in auditing is an advantage
- Advanced Excel skills
- Fluent English; German at least B1 (written and spoken)
- Independent working style, strong ownership, and strong communication skills.
