We are looking for an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join a team based in the Czech Republic. This is a freelance engagement with a strong focus on supporting a business-critical Java web application running on an on-premise infrastructure.

Project Details:

• Position: Senior DevOps Engineer (Java / On-Prem / VMware)

• Start date: ASAP

• Workload: Full-time 

• Duration: 3 months (with potential extension)

• Remote work: Up to 80%, once every two weeks in Prague or Brno

• Operate and support a Java web application on on-premise infrastructure (Linux / VMware)

• Manage core stack: nginx, Apache Tomcat, PostgreSQL

• Maintain and optimize CI/CD pipelines and automation (Bash/Python)

• Monitor systems, handle troubleshooting across all layers, and ensure stability

• Implement backup/recovery, support on-call, and collaborate onsite (Prague/Brno)

• 5–8+ years in DevOps/SysOps with Java application support

• Strong skills in Linux, VMware, nginx, Tomcat, PostgreSQL

• Experience with CI/CD, scripting, monitoring & logging tools

• Solid troubleshooting skills across infrastructure and application layers

• English required, Czech preferred, willingness for occasional onsite work
