Digital sales is a rapidly growing business model for PAYBACK. We work in a cross-functional team which includes Business, Product and Tech-owner. You are end-2-end responsible for your product. You are shaping the future of our digital business. You also drive the technical architecture and align your strategy with the other Crews (Product Teams).

As a Fullstack Engineer, you will work within cross-functional crews following a "you build it, you run it” principle, contributing not only with code but also with operational excellence, system design, and team enablement.

YOUR TASKS

• Take ownership across the full lifecycle: development, deployment, and operations
• Work with cloud platforms (GCP preferred) and Terraform to provision and manage infrastructure
• Ensure reliability, performance, and observability of systems
• Collaborate closely with product, design, business and engineering peers
• Share knowledge, mentor others, and actively contribute to team success
• You support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives such as technologies and submitting them for architecture review
• You are willing to constantly expand your knowledge in new areas and technologies

YOUR PROFILE

• You have sound professional experience in Java development in the backend area as well as practical experience in full-stack development
• You are open to the approach of a full-stack developer (incl. testing, web frontend, backend, monitoring, DevOps thinking, data) and have experience with test frameworks
• You have a solid understanding of microservices, APIs, and system design
• You have practical experience with cloud technologies (e. g. GCP), infrastructure as code (e. g. Terraform), and modern deployment and operating models
• You have strong problem analysis and solving skills, and the ability to take responsibility
• You have excellent communication and collaboration skills, a high sense of responsibility and initiative, and a willingness to learn
• Fluency in spoken and written English and German rounds off your profile
