At the Civil Society Forum, we are a pan-European network of over 160 NGOs dedicated to pluralistic democracy, rule of law, human rights, social and climate justice. Our members are on the front lines—supporting those fighting for a better world, protecting the vulnerable and ensuring Europe remains a peaceful, democratic community.

We are looking for a visionary Fundraising Expert to help us build a sustainable future by bridging the gap between civil society and the private sector in Germany. The Expert will build and implement a fundraising strategy geared toward the corporate sector. In this role, you will leverage knowledge, data, an innovative mindset and excellent relationship management to inspire partners, strengthen relationships and grow our partner base. You will test new fundraising formats to recruit new partners. You will be working closely with the CSF leadership team and the Executive Director.

Please note that you should be able to operate as an independent service provider or freelancer. This is a consultancy engagement, not an employment position.

Fundraising Expert (m/w/d)

Your role:

You will help CSF to build new fundraising system from the ground up. Your core focus will be on the following:

• Strategy & Creation: Developing a comprehensive fundraising system from scratch. Including a fundraising strategy, translated into an annual plan with concrete activities implemented in collaboration with other team members
• Relationship Building: Identifying and cultivating meaningful partnerships with private donors and corporations across Germany; researching and attending relevant networking and partnership-building events; presenting CSF’s work and partnership opportunities to potential donors and partners.
• Campaign Design: Creating and implementing high-impact fundraising drives, campaigns and events that resonate with donors.

Your profile:

• An Expert Communicator: You are a fluent German speaker with a gift for presentation, persuasion and relationship building. Proficiency in English or other European languages is a plus.
• A Connector: You have an existing network in the German and/or EU-wide business sector.
• Experienced: You understand the nuances of corporate giving in Germany and have a track record of successful fundraising campaigns or events.
• Values-Driven: You are passionate about human rights and want your professional work to serve a higher social purpose.

• Flexibility: We offer a friendly, flexible work environment with the consultancy contract of up to 20 hours per week. Remuneration will be agreed upon individually based on your freelance day or hourly rate.
