Jobbeschreibung
We are seeking a deeply experienced Industrial and Automation Leader to drive the fourth industrial revolution (Industry 4.0) for the world's leading manufacturing and industrial companies. This executive role is focused on establishing Google Cloud as the foundational platform for creating smart factories, resilient supply chains, and intelligent industrial products. You will be responsible for helping companies in sectors like discrete manufacturing, process manufacturing, and industrial automation harness the power of Google Cloud's Data, AI, and agentic technologies to radically improve efficiency, quality, and innovation. The ideal candidate will have a profound understanding of the factory floor, operational technology (OT), and a compelling vision for the future of manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Industry Leadership: You will be the chief architect and driver of Google Cloud's comprehensive go-to-market strategy for the industrial manufacturing and automation sector. This involves defining the vision for how Google Cloud will empower the factory of the future. You will act as the senior voice of the industrial customer within Google, translating the critical needs of plant managers, operations leaders, and manufacturing engineers—such as improving OEE, ensuring worker safety, and enabling mass customization—into actionable strategies for our product, engineering, and infrastructure teams.
Smart Factory and Operational Transformation: You will serve as a peer-level advisor to the C-suite and heads of manufacturing at our most strategic industrial clients, guiding their journey toward Industry 4.0. You will lead the development of cutting-edge solutions for creating digital twins of production lines, enabling AI-powered predictive maintenance, and deploying computer vision for automated quality control. Your focus will be on leveraging Google Cloud to unify IT and OT data, providing a single pane of glass for real-time visibility and control over global manufacturing operations.
Data, AI, and Engineering Innovation: You will champion the application of Google's most advanced technologies to solve core industrial challenges. This includes helping manufacturers ingest and process massive volumes of data from industrial control systems (PLCs, SCADA) and IoT sensors. You will spearhead the use of AI and machine learning to optimize complex production processes, improve energy efficiency, and enhance robotic automation. Furthermore, you will drive the use of generative AI to assist engineers in product design (generative design), automate the creation of technical documentation, and develop intelligent agents to support frontline workers.
Supply Chain Resilience and Optimization: You will lead the development of solutions aimed at creating intelligent, agile, and resilient supply chains. By integrating data from across the value chain—from suppliers and factory floors to logistics and end customers—you will help manufacturers move from reactive to predictive supply chain management. This includes creating solutions for advanced demand forecasting, real-time inventory optimization, and logistics visibility.
Ecosystem and Thought Leadership: You will be responsible for building and nurturing a world-class ecosystem of partners critical to the industrial sector. This includes leading industrial automation vendors (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell Automation, Schneider Electric), IoT platform providers, and specialized system integrators. As the public face and thought leader for Google Cloud in the industrial space, you will represent us at major industry events like Hannover Messe, engage with standards bodies, and articulate a powerful vision for the secure, data-driven, and AI-powered future of manufacturing.
