in Berlin or Bonn

The position is to be filled as soon as possible, with an initial contract duration of 6 months . There are good prospects for an extension. Employment location will be Berlin or Bonn, Germany. You will work 39 hours/week, to enable you to continue your qualification within the framework of your current studies. Mobile work within Germany is possible in agreement with your team. 100% mobile work is not possible. The position is remunerated with 1.080,00€ per month.

As an intern, you will support the development of a "self-service" suite that enables WHH Country Office teams to easily access technical guidance, best practices, and global standards on agricultural program approaches. The suite will cover key areas such as farming approaches (agroecology, conservation agriculture, conventional farming), good agricultural practices, seeds, fertilizers and pesticides, irrigation, soil testing, integrated soil fertility management, integrated pest management, water harvesting methods, LANN+, and nutrition-sensitive agriculture.

Your responsibilities

  • Provide overall support to WHH´s global advisor on agriculture by assisting with day-to-day project tasks and contributing to the smooth implementation of the Sharepoint WIKI platform for agricultural technical guidance.
  • Support the transfer of the existing documentations into a web-based Sharepoint / WIKI format, to ensure the content is effectively translated into a digital format, meeting pre-defined quality and accessibility requirements.
  • Set up and structure a Wiki page in WHH´s SharePoint format, which includes links to a library, documentation, and project examples of WHH and partners.
  • Optional: Create GPT for AI responses to agriculture-related questions based on the technical standards of WHH.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of a concise, engaging online onboarding module that equips WHH staff and partners with the skills and knowledge needed to navigate and apply the new platform.
  • Work closely with the Global Advisor on Agriculture and Food Systems to pilot the new webpage in 2–3 selected countries, helping to collect user feedback, identify challenges, and refine the platform based on practical insights.
  • Ensure that linkages to other technical themes (e.g. WASH, Nutrition, Climate Resilience) are visible to underline synergies and avoid redundancy.
  • Further support tasks in the context of the work of the global Agriculture and Natural Resource Management Advisor are possible.

Your profile

  • You are enrolled as a student at university/college and have to complete a mandatory internship in the course of your current studies, preferably in agriculture, organic farming, natural resource management, agricultural economics or related fields (ideally on Master level).
  • You have some familiarity with topics such as Agriculture, Natural Resource Management, Food Systems, Nutrition or Climate Resilience.
  • You have gained initial (work) experience in the field of rural development (agriculture, development cooperation) and/or humanitarian action.
  • You are a confidentnuser of Office 365 software (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel), Adobe PDF, and Open AI tools; experience in website design and/or creating training videos are an asset.
  • You enjoy working in an intercultural environment, are a good communicator and have an open-minded personality.
  • You have an excellent command of spoken and written English; French and/or German language skills would be an asset.

What we offer

  • Valuable Insights: Get the chance to explore the NGO world beyond your immediate responsibilities and expand your professional perspective.
  • Flexibility: We offer flexible working hours to help you balance your work and ongoing studies.
  • Modern & Agile Work Environment: Be part of a forward thinking organization that fully embraces digitalization and innovation across all areas.
  • Personal & Professional Growth: Access diverse learning and development opportunities to advance your career.
  • Team: Join our dedicated and diverse teams, where passion, expertise, and joy come together to create a better world.
