Product Owner/Development Architect (f/m/d) Operations Control Plane for Sovereign Cloud
We help the world run better
At SAP, we enable you to bring out your best. Our company culture is focused on collaboration and a shared passion to help the world run better. How? We focus every day on building the foundation for tomorrow and creating a workplace that embraces differences, values flexibility, and is aligned to our purpose-driven and future-focused work. We offer a highly collaborative, caring team environment with a strong focus on learning and development, recognition for your individual contributions, and a variety of benefit options for you to choose from.
What you’ll do
We are looking for a dynamic and technically grounded Product Owner/Development Architect to lead the design, development, and strategic direction of the Operations Control Plane (OCP) within our Sovereign Cloud Automation & Tooling (SAT) team.
This hybrid role combines product ownership with technical architecture leadership, making it ideal for someone who can drive both the "what" and the "how"—translating business needs into a clear product roadmap while ensuring its implementation is scalable, secure, and future-proof.
You will be instrumental in integrating OCP with Service Provider Cockpit (SPC), CRM Fulfillment systems, and other cloud-native services, supporting end-to-end automation, orchestration, and compliance for Sovereign Cloud operations.
The position can be filled in part time.
In this hybrid role, you will:
- Define and own the OCP product vision, roadmap, and technical direction, ensuring alignment with strategic business needs and architectural principles.
- Lead the architecture and system design of OCP, ensuring scalability, modularity, and alignment with cloud-native best practices.
- Translate business requirements into both actionable user stories and robust technical designs, collaborating with engineering and platform teams.
- Ensure seamless integration with SPC, CRM, billing, and infrastructure orchestration layers.
- Define and prioritize the product backlog, manage sprints, and provide architectural oversight during development cycles.
- Establish and enforce technical standards, conduct design reviews, and ensure alignment with security, compliance, and sovereignty requirements.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration across engineering, architecture, security, operations, and business teams.
- Identify automation opportunities and lead the design and development of new capabilities within OCP.
- Monitor key metrics, gather feedback, and continuously iterate to improve both product functionality and system performance.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation and technical excellence.
What you bring
- Proven experience in Hands-on Development in Java/Nodejs/ABAP, product ownership, solution architecture, or technical leadership roles in cloud infrastructure or automation domains.
- Deep understanding of Service Provider Cockpit (SPC) and CRM Fulfillment processes.
- Strong technical foundation in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), microservices architecture, and automation frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to bridge the gap between business and technical teams, with experience writing both user stories and architecture specs.
- Hands-on knowledge of tools like Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, and CI/CD platforms.
- Familiarity with data sovereignty, compliance, and security best practices in enterprise cloud environments.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
- A proactive, ownership-driven mindset with a passion for both technical depth and customer value
- Willingness to go through personal security clearance (Government process)
