Über diesen Job
Product & Process Manager (m/f/d)
About us
Aeco is a start-up working to become one of the leading private, collaborative developers and financiers of peatland restoration projects across Europe and beyond.
Why peatlands?
Peatlands cover just 3% of land but store nearly 30% of global soil carbon. When drained, they release ~5% of global greenhouse gas emissions. Restoring them is one of the most powerful climate solutions—while also protecting biodiversity and water systems.
How we make a difference
In a sector dominated by subsidies and slow public processes, aeco brings private-sector speed and collaboration. Aeco accelerates peatland restoration by combining restoration expertise, private finance, and digital tools. We build a platform where:
- Land stewards get long-term payments for climate protection—at no cost and with continued cultivation options.
- Corporates access local, transparent, high-quality carbon and potentially biodiversity credits.
- Investors tap into a verified green asset class.
- Restoration partners scale their impact through joint development, funding, and monitoring.
With a first project implemented and plenty more in the pipeline we deliver projects from sourcing to financing, certification, and monitoring— in a standardized, digital-first, and third-party validated way. Our objective is to restore at least 100.000 ha by 2030, scaling further in the 2030s.
Your mission
We are looking for a Product & Process Manager to own our process development and standardization and, building on these, our product portfolio (Portfolio App, Field App, Asana). You will turn complex structures into transparent, standardized, reproducible systems that build in AI support wherever possible and effective. Acting as the interface between tech, science (Peatland specialists), carbon project developers, partners, and operations – you’ll lay the foundation for scalable growth.
This role combines Product Ownership with PMO leadership—ensuring that processes, requirements, and product development fit together coherently.
What you’ll do
- Process Ownership & Standardization
- Untangle and structure complex workflows across teams.
- Define and enforce clear, repeatable processes (quality standards, documentation, governance).
- Mirror and align processes between internal teams and external partners/contractors.
- Product Ownership (non public facing Portfolio App & Field App)
- Own the roadmap and backlog for our key digital products.
- Translate requirements from internal teams, partners, and AI use-cases into clear, prioritized deliverables.
- Coordinate with tech, external dev partners, and field teams to ensure adoption and value delivery.
- AI Integration
- Identify and manage AI/automation opportunities to improve workflows, reporting, and decision-making.
- Work with tech to design, test, and integrate AI tools effectively into products and processes ensuring day to day work of internal teams and partners is optimized.
- Portfolio Management
- Drive transparency and structure in our project portfolio.
- Support decision-making through clear data and process-driven reporting.
- Optional Growth Areas
- Data structures, data delivery points and data products.
- Special Projects with leadership.
What you bring
Must-haves
- 5+ years experience in Product Management, Process/Operations, or PMO roles.
- Strong ability to simplify and standardize complex structures.
- Hands-on ownership of digital product roadmaps and delivery.
- Empathic stakeholder facilitation skills; ability to ensure requirements are heard and considered.
- Motivation to contribute to climate solutions.
- Excellent English and German communication skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Familiarity with carbon standards, GIS, or MRV.
- Experience with Asana (or similar tools), product analytics, and data governance.
- Track record in AI/automation product management.
What this role offers you
- A chance to shape Aeco’s processes and digital products at the core of its scale-up journey.
- Autonomy and leadership without the need for disciplinary team leadership
- The assurance that your input will be heard and tied to transparent decisions.
- The opportunity to create tangible value, contribute to profitability and organic growth.
- Continuous learning across product, process, AI, and nature-based solutions.
What we offer
- Passionate small team tackling urgent and complex challenges in peatland restoration.
- Competitive remuneration package (incl. options).
- A unique opportunity to combine product leadership, process ownership, and AI integration in a purpose-driven company.
- Full-time.
- Fully Remote (Berlin visit 1–2 days min. every 2 months + a quarterly team offsite of ~3 days) or Berlin
