Our production site near Chemnitz is where science meets scale: industrial fermentation systems, food-grade processing lines, and a team that moves fast. We’re now looking for a hands-on leader to take ownership of this site and help us grow.

The Role

This isn’t a desk job. As Site Supervisor, you’re the operational backbone of our production site – the person who makes production happen, day in and day out. You own the full picture: from fermentation runs and shift schedules to food safety compliance and team development. You bridge R&D, Pilot Plant, QA&QC, and management – and you’re the one who keeps everything moving when it matters most.

Your Responsibilities

Production & Process Oversight

• Own end-to-end production execution: schedules, resource allocation, and daily fermentation and processing operations
• Track and report yield, downtime, contamination events, and CCPs in line with IFS Food requirements
• Keep Opex within budget; coordinate maintenance and follow-up on CapEx projects
• Drive PPQ for new products and processes; manage tech transfer from R&D/Pilot Plant to full-scale production

Food Safety, GMP & Regulatory Compliance

• Build and maintain the IFS Food certificate; define and enforce SOPs and hygiene standards
• Member of the HACCP team; lead documentation and support audits and inspections

Team Leadership & Shift Management

• Lead and coordinate the on-site production team (operators and technicians)
• Plan shift schedules and manage workload distribution
• Support training and onboarding of new production staff

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

• Set and communicate HSE standards; conduct risk assessments and routine safety checks
• Monitor and report on water, waste, and energy usage

Your Profile

• Experience supervising production teams in food, beverage, biotech, or industrial manufacturing
• Strong operational mindset and structured working style
• Experience managing shifts and coordinating technicians
• Familiarity with hygiene standards and industrial production environments
• Hands-on mentality and willingness to be present on the shop floor
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Fluent in both German and English

Nice to Have

• Experience in fermentation, brewing, dairy, or similar process industries
• Technical or engineering background
• Knowledge of HACCP, IFS Food, ISO 22000, or comparable quality systems
• Experience in scaling or setting up production environments** **
