Our team of engineers, at all levels, work with the business leaders in defining the product roadmap and come up with innovative solutions to grow the future of travel. We design and develop our back end systems and REST APIs that serve hundreds of millions of searches a day, collecting and parsing data across thousands of partners to get the best deals for our customers

In this role you will get to:

• Join the Connectivity, Optimization & Commercial Operations product group, a core team within our Flights Technology organization. One of the goals of this product group is to integrate a large number of airline APIs into an API platform, while achieving a harmonized level of functionality and content across all integrated airline APIs.

• Work across a portfolio of applications that form the supply layer of our platform in the areas of flight search, booking, payment, servicing and reconciliation. You'll leverage your expertise, primarily in Elixir, to develop, maintain, and enhance these critical, high-availability systems.

• Be a senior technical voice in our engineering team, participating in key decisions and championing the continuous improvement of our Elixir codebase and Kubernetes infrastructure.

Who you are:

• Experience in developing with Elixir.

• Production experience in general back-end development.

• Passion for clean, maintainable, and testable code, software craftsmanship and domain-driven system design.

• Ideal candidate will have working experience or knowledge with Rust

• Good understanding of functional programming concepts and concurrency problems.

• Solid knowledge of the principles for building highly scalable, distributed systems.

• Experience using AI-assisted development tools (like Cursor) to enhance productivity, demonstrating a critical understanding of LLM usage on a codebase and strong, domain-driven judgment.

• Experience with Phoenix, or the desire to learn it quickly.

• Experience in the travel industry and distribution technology, or the desire to learn it.

• Understanding of APIs and proficiency with data exchange formats and protocols.

• Good written and verbal communication skills in English (English is the company’s official language)
