Job Description
IBM iX – Experience the Human Factor.
Are you ready to drive data-driven innovation and lay the foundation for groundbreaking AI solutions? As an AI & Data Architect (m/f/d), you will design high-performance systems and architectures that empower companies to achieve strategic goals with modern technology.
Sound like you? Then we are looking for you to join us as soon as possible in a full-time position (40/38.5 hours per week) at our Berlin, Düsseldorf, or Vienna location.
Your tasks
- You will develop and be responsible for the end-to-end architecture for data and AI platforms, ensuring scalability, security, compliance, and performance.
- You design modern data architectures (e.g., Data Lakehouse, Data Mesh, DataVault 2.0) as well as best-practice AI/ML pipelines.
- You define company-wide standards for Responsible AI, Governance, and AI/ML Security.
- To ensure consistent and secure solutions, you will work closely with data engineers, AI engineers, security teams, sales and delivery.
- You will play a key role in selecting the appropriate tools and cloud services (AWS, Azure or GCP) and will take on the architectural leadership in internal as well as customer-oriented projects.
- You design AI solutions, optimize models in terms of performance and output quality, monitor model behavior, and enable automated deployments and lifecycle management across all environments.
Your skills
- You bring extensive expertise in data and AI architectures, including cloud-native and distributed systems.
- You have a deep understanding of MLOps practices, operationalizing AI/ML, lifecycle management, and Responsible AI frameworks. Experience with data modeling approaches such as DataVault 2.0 or Data Mesh is a plus.
- You are familiar with common AI security threats (e.g., adversarial attacks, data poisoning) as well as regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, AI Act).
- You communicate clearly and effectively and enjoy working in cross-functional, agile teams.
- You have proven experience implementing MLOps frameworks (e.g., MLflow, Azure ML, SageMaker), including CI/CD for ML, model versioning, experiment tracking, and automated model monitoring.
- You speak German at C1 level and have at least B2 level English.
