About the role

As a Sustainability Manager (f/m/d) you will be part of our cross-functional and very passionate Sustainability Team that is tackling one of the most important issues of our time – the global climate emergency. You will support the team by translating Forto’s sustainability goals into concrete actions and creating transparency on Forto’s sustainability performance. As part of the team, you will have the opportunity to make an incredible impact on Forto, our customers and the entire logistics industry, while also being able to focus on your personal development. You will be responsible for your own long-term projects as well as working on various ad hoc topics that change regularly.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead your own projects from day one, bringing together diverse stakeholders and working in cross-functional teams on a project-by-project basis

• Monitor and analyze performance of sustainability products against targets and support in regular management reporting

• Manage a sustainability product end-to-end including procurement, operations and commercialization

• Collect and manage data related to Forto’s sustainability performance in line with global standards and certifications (e.g. EcoVadis, SBTi)

• Prepare annual planning and strategy development for the sustainability team

• Develop internal sustainability policies together with different stakeholders across the organization

• Implement targeted initiatives together with sustainability ambassadors across Forto to drive change in all departments of the organization and contribute to the achievement of Forto’s sustainability targets

Required Skills and Experience

• Previous knowledge of and practical experience in the field of sustainability and are passionate about the topic

• Structured, independent, and very detail-oriented working style

• Very strong analytical skills, having worked with SQL and created business cases

• Project management experience

• You have a problem solving mindset, are highly motivated and love challenging the norms

• Great communication skills, both verbally and written

• You view feedback as an opportunity for growth

• Fluent in English, while German is a plus

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Completed studies in business administration, sustainability, data or a related field

• Experience working in sustainable logistics and an good understanding of transport emissions

• Prior knowledge of relevant sustainability regulations and frameworks
