The Leibniz-Forschungsinstitut für Molekulare Pharmakologie (FMP) in Berlin is a non-university research institute that conducts basic research in molecular pharmacology and provides a vibrant and collaborative environment with state-of-the-art facilities for research and employees from all over the world.
The Core Facility Cellular Imaging at the FMP is looking for a

The position is full-time as a parental leave replacement (with the possibility of part-time work). The position is for the duration of 18 months.
The Core Facility Cellular Imaging supports working groups from the institute and its cooperation partners in their research projects with state-of-the-art light and electron microscopes (https://www.leibniz-fmp.de/cellular-imaging). We work with proteins, cell cultures, and model organisms from biological and biomedical research. To this end, we prepare samples for electron microscopy, generate digital images in 2D and 3D, and analyze the images. We also establish new electron microscopy techniques to correlate 3D electron microscopy and light microscopy.
Your responsibilities:
- Preparation of samples for electron microscopy
- Operation and maintenance of electron microscopes (TEM & SEM) and other equipment at the Cellular Imaging Facility
- Operation and quality testing of fluorescence microscopes
- Training and support of users of electron microscopes
- Laboratory management
Your profile:
- Completed training as a chemical/biological/medical technical assistant, biology lab technician, or comparable qualification
- Experience in transmission electron microscopy and the associated preparation techniques is advantageous
- Experience with histological techniques is advantageous
- Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office
- Ability to work independently and responsibly
- Motivated, careful, and team-oriented approach to work
- Good English skills
