Corporate Bank Phoenix

The Corporate Bank Germany's Phoenix Program targets a 2029 operating model with improved efficiency and customer experience, using redesigned processes and modern technology to reduce costs and boost scalability.

Within Phoenix the Servicing Tribe is focussing on end-to-end-automation of service processes, that could be client our bank originated. With utilizing current technology like Gemini AI on a GCP platform we are aiming to get 80% of our processes 100% automated.

As IT Product Owner Process Automation (m/f/x) (Role: Technology Management Lead), you will lead a development team of 8-10 engineers and be accountable for its delivery. In this role, you act as the technical counterpart to the Business Product Owner, responsible for defining the implementation approach, making technology decisions in alignment with central standards, and providing direct disciplinary leadership to your engineering team.

Your key responsibilities

  • Provide full disciplinary leadership for a cross-functional engineering squad, including performance reviews, development planning, HR processes, and team dynamics

  • Act as the technical counterpart to the Business Product Owner, defining the implementation approach and making technology decisions aligned with central standards

  • Lead by example in software development, planning, and delivery, ensuring technical excellence and accountability

  • Collaborate with global stakeholders to manage risk, resolve conflicts, and drive platform and process optimisation across development and production

  • Grow team capabilities across roles (e.g. Developers, Business Analysts, QA) to enable high-quality, efficient delivery aligned with business goals

Your skills and experiences

  • Several years of experience in leading agile development teams with direct disciplinary and delivery responsibility, either as a Tech Lead or Product Owner

  • University degree with technological or scientific focus, providing a sufficient foundation for technical decision-making

  • Extensive experience developing reusable and performant Java based platforms rooted in the latest architectural and design principles (cloud-based microservice architectures revolving around big data storage). Practical experience with modern DevOps/SRE pipelines and CI/CD tools)

  • Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English; German language knowledge would be a plus
