About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Test Automation Engineer (m/f/d) to join our 8DAX1 R&D SW Platform Core & Data Services team in Dresden. In this pivotal role, you will design, develop, and implement automated testing solutions for our platform services and APIs, ensuring functionality, scalability, performance, and security across our distributed systems and microservice architectures.

Key Responsibilities

• Test Automation Development: Design, develop, and execute automated tests (API, Integration, E2E) to ensure high-quality software delivery.
• CI/CD Integration: Embed automated tests within the CI/CD pipeline to enable continuous testing and rapid feedback.
• Cross-Platform Automation: Integrate automated tests into the cross-platform automation suite, maintaining a uniform testing and reporting structure.
• Test Strategy & Reporting: Collaborate with platform teams to define test strategies, develop test plans, and implement coherent test automation frameworks.
• Performance & Security Testing: Ensure automated tests cover performance, security, and reliability aspects of platform services.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Certification: ISTQB certification is required.
• Test Automation Expertise: Proven experience designing and implementing automated tests, integrating them into test frameworks. Expertise in API, functional, and integration testing.
• Distributed Systems Knowledge: Experience testing microservices and distributed systems, ideally with Kubernetes and containerized environments.
• Technical Skills: Proficient in test automation tools and frameworks such as Postman, Integrate, Swagger UI, RestAssured, JUnit, TestNG, Robot Framework, and scripting languages like Python.
• Tool Proficiency: Expert-level knowledge of GitLab, Docker, and Kubernetes.

• Bonus Skills (Optional, Highly Desirable)
• Experience testing with Identity Providers (e.g., KeyCloak, Okta) and MFA solutions.
• Knowledge of Secretstores / Vaults, certificate management, and security testing approaches.
• Experience with event-driven architectures, message queues, and workflow automation.
• Testing experience with cluster-capable, service-oriented architectures.
• Familiarity with modern web technologies and monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Jaeger.
• Experience in Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) and tools like Cucumber.
