We seek individuals with keen interests and hands-on expertise in geochemistry & petrology and analytical methods as applied to natural samples. A PhD degree and expertise in independent in-situ instrumental analysis are requested for this position
PostDoc research initiatives will be elaborated upon with the candidate and shall be on topics related to our vibrant core initiative to better quantify fluid-mediated chemical cycling in subduction zones. Methods-based research on selected topics complementary to on-going PhD projects is relevant (1. Ferric iron systematics in coexisting minerals of hydrous mantle rocks with progressive subduction;
2. Dehydration fluid element concentrations and fluid/mineral element distribution coefficients of hydrous mantle rocks with progressive subduction). LA-ICP-MS method development and assistance in running/maintaining our facility at our institute are expected, with great potential for scientific collaboration. Research initiatives will be carried out in collaboration with the research groups of J. Hermann and D. Rubatto
