Job Purpose:
Lead development and roll-out of airfreight business intelligence tools and apps working with dedicated developers, data scientists and IT teams, Own the airfreight FRP environment globally and ensure effective implementation of all automation/IT development projects to serve critical business requirements and strategic initiatives. Drive continuous improvement of airfreight digitalization architecture to sustain the model. Conceptualize and drive global Business Intelligence projects with cross-functional stakeholders (e.g., dynamic pricing). Maintain AFR FRP quality; lead developer team to achieve continuous improvement and standardization of the apps- ensure correct usage for business needs
Principal accountabilities:
Business Intelligence Development& Data Architecture:
- Design, develop, and optimize BI applications (FRP/Qlik frontend & backend), ensuring high data integrity, stability, and user-centric experiences.
- Build and govern data architecture, including data collection pipelines, storage frameworks, modeling, and ETL workflows.
- Implement predictive and statistical modeling to uncover insights and support decision-making.
- Maintain and improve IPT databases, pricing tools, and FRP dashboards; ensure cohesive integration of internal and external data sources.
- Lead ad-hoc analytics on markets, products, customers, and financial performance.
Data Quality, Governance & Vendor Management:
- Establish and maintain data quality assurance programs across FRP, quotation tools, carrier performance systems, and external vendor feeds.
- Standardize external vendor data inputs and integration with DHL MDM/Teradata; ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Conduct audits, implement internal controls, and resolve data inconsistencies across multiple apps and reports.
- Maintain secure system access, ensure glitch-free server/app performance, and enforce governance across the reporting ecosystem.
Project Leadership, Stakeholder Collaboration & Strategic BI Initiatives:
- Lead end-to-end BI/analytics projects: define scope, requirements, objectives, roles, milestones, and charters.
- Partner with cross-functional teams (global/regional business, BUIT, Data Science, MTS, GSC) to drive alignment and deliver business-ready solutions.
- Manage GSC/offshore developers, guide BI analysts, coordinate sprints, and ensure timely delivery of strategic tools.
- Provide actionable insights and recommendations to senior leadership; support strategic digitalization and automation goals.
Process Improvement, Automation & User Enablement:
- Identify opportunities for automation, off-shoring, and digitalization; drive implementation to enhance efficiency and reporting accuracy.
- Develop reporting strategies, optimize BI processes, and fix systemic issues in internal reporting systems (FRP).
- Promote global BI adoption through trainings, launch calls, user guides, SOPs, and documentation.
- Serve as the go-to expert for AFR reporting, data sanity checks, BI best practices, and platform usage.

- Identify strategic and operational issues in all areas of airfreight that can benefit from the application of data analytics
- Demonstrate strategic focus with the ability to shape the vision of digitization and business intelligence in airfreight
- Proven practical experience and comprehensive working knowledge of business intelligence and data warehouse environments including system administration, database design, dimensional modelling, security, reporting, and analytics
- Exhibit strong data analysis skills, with preferred experience in SQL, Python, and data visualization tools such as Qlik or Power BI
- Strong project management skills with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions; Understanding of business intelligence best practices
- Experience in managing data warehouse and reporting infrastructure to help scale reporting needs while maintaining a high-performance digital environment
- Propose automation solutions to reduce manual effort and mistakes; enabling opportunities to optimize resource utilization
- Develop and interpret statistical models with respect to the business context; Propose practical solutions, and initiate further discussion with the respective business owners and top management
- Hands-on experience with the development or deployment of process automation tools, applications, or systems
- Propose business analysis, and information management practices including strategic planning and change management principles
- Excellent command of MS Office tools, SQL, and at least one BI tool (e.g., PowerBI, QlikSense, Tableau, etc.). Programming experience in Python, R, or similar is a plus
- Ability to propose solutions and or seek required input to support the countries/regions with issues
- Result-oriented analytical skills and ability to think "out of the box”
- Tolerant of ambiguity with the ability to prioritize and remain focused on critical deliverables
- Strong facilitation, interpersonal, and communication (written and verbal) skills
- Proven ability to engage and communicate with x-BU stakeholders with varying levels of data literacy and technical knowledge, ranging from countries to top management
- Strong organizational skills paired with proactive behaviour to manage complex project deliverables and deadlines, lead workshops and meetings
- Excellent verbal and written English language skills

- Supervising offshore colleagues in GSC to address critical deliverables
Qualifications and Experience
- Education Level: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience/qualification/ Degree in mathematics, engineering, informatics, business administration, or equivalent professional qualification
- Experience Level: 6+ years of relevant experience in data analytics and logistics preferably in airfreight forwarding.
