- Serve as subject matter expert for structural engineering including simulation method development for Pentatonic thermoplastic battery enclosure products.
- Act as the technical authority linking material behavior, system‑level digital simulations, and real‑world physical performance.
- Develop and maintain a roadmap of virtual validation tools and methods to support all battery system functional requirements, including evaluation and/or use new digital tools.
- Adapt simulation methods based on the required level of detail, applying simplification techniques where appropriate to ensure efficient and robust analyses.
- Define, develop, and support material card development methodologies.
- Ensure robust correlation of virtual simulation results with physical test data.
- Identify opportunities for, and support the implementation of, AI and machine learning tools within the innovation department.
- Ensure project teams define robust simulation plans with the appropriate , assumptions, boundary conditions.
- Support customer projects with expert know‑how, providing technical direction and engineering recommendations.
- Present Kautex competencies to customers at an expert level, discussing and constructively challenging requirements when appropriate.
Qualifications
- Advanced Degree (Masters/PhD) in Engineering (mechanical, technical, automotive or plastics).
- Min. 5 years of Simulation experience in structural, composite plasstics process simulation preferable in automotive product development. Thermal analysis knowledge is a plus
- Min. 3 years of working in an international company or abroad assignment.
- Nonlinear structural mechanics and Material knowledge of Thermoplastic Polymers, Glass Fiber reinforced composites and Metals.
- Knowledge of battery cell or battery system structural simulation methods
- Knowledge of Automotive simulation standards
- Compression molding and/or Injection molding process knowledge
- Detailed knowledge of Finite Element Method
- Expert level in LS Dyna and Hyperworks; Other FEM solvers Optistruct, Ansys, Abaqus and FEMFAT is a plus.
- Experience with Process simulation softwares Moldflow / Moldex3D / Digimat
- Willingness to travel (International)
- MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Project, Outlook, Teams)
