– We get education rolling –
KiTa Bremen, owned by the municipality of Bremen, is the largest provider of child daycare. With around 2,500 employees, we run our 89 child and family centers. We educate, raise and care for around 9,000 children in crèche, elementary and after-school groups and in playhouses/meeting places. A prejudice-conscious approach to diversity and the active promotion of inclusion and participation are key principles of KiTa Bremen’s self-image. Our child and family centers focus on both the children and their family environment and work together with institutions and political bodies in the district according to the principles of district orientation. Fresh food is cooked daily in our children’s and family centers. The healthy nutrition of the children and the close cooperation between the educational and home economics departments are very important to us.
In our kitchens, we prepare freshly cooked meals every day with our own staff. The employees are usually permanently assigned to a facility. In addition, there is a pool of employees for substitute assignments.
Full-time. The Housekeeping and Hygiene Department is one of our central service facilities and advises the children’s and family centers on how to manage their daily tasks and requirements. In addition to the head of the department, the unit includes the catering coordinator and a total of two cleaning managers. The coordinator works closely with the head of unit and supports them with overarching issues and management tasks.

Providing technical guidance to kitchen managers and kitchen staff, particularly with regard to work organization and changes to work equipment
Support in the implementation of the nutrition concept and the applicable hygiene regulations and their regular monitoring in the facilities, as well as the creation of an HACCP concept
Supporting the KuFZ managers in the preparation of duty and substitution schedules and in the planning of new kitchens and structural changes (e.g. new equipment)
Organization, supervision and control of external supplies
Supporting the head of unit in employee acquisition through to the implementation of recruitment procedures
Determining requirements and organizing training courses for kitchen managers and kitchen staff with external partners in the areas of food law and nutrition
Supporting line managers in dealing with conflicts

Qualification as a cook (f/m/d), housekeeper (f/m/d), housekeeping manager (f/m/d), master housekeeper (f/m/d) or dietician (f/m/d))
And completed further training as a specialist in housekeeping services (f/m/d) or comparable qualification (DQR 6)
Also desirable are:
Basic knowledge in dealing with allergies and intolerances in children
Professional experience in the working environment, especially in communal catering and canteen kitchens
Interest in the nutritional concept of KiTa Bremen and its implementation
Interest in the special requirements of child daycare and children’s nutrition
Open and empathetic attitude towards the different people and their religious and cultural orientation in our child and family centers
