About the Opportunity
Spencer Ogden is partnering with a leading organisation in the energy infrastructure sector to support the delivery of a major construction project in northern Germany.
This role offers the opportunity to play a key part in delivering complex civil works within a large-scale energy infrastructure project, working alongside multidisciplinary and international teams in a dynamic site-based environment.
Location
The position is based at a project site in northern Germany, within reach of major regional centres such as Bremen and Hamburg. The area benefits from strong transport connections and established infrastructure, supporting efficient project delivery and accessibility.
Due to the nature of the role, regular on-site presence is required to ensure effective oversight of construction activities and stakeholder coordination.
Key Responsibilities
Provide overall leadership and accountability for civil engineering and construction activities across the project lifecycle
Coordinate complex engineering interfaces and contribute to plant layout and execution strategy
Manage and oversee subcontractors, consultants, and construction partners to ensure successful delivery
Take ownership of contract management, risk mitigation, and change control processes
Drive project performance across schedule, cost, and quality metrics
Oversee permitting procedures (e.g. BImSchG) and ensure environmental compliance (e.g. EBV)
Champion and enforce health, safety, and quality standards across all site activities
Candidate Profile
Degree in Civil Engineering or a comparable qualification
Proven track record in delivering large-scale infrastructure or energy projects (HVDC or substation experience advantageous)
Strong leadership capability with a solid understanding of commercial and contractual frameworks
Strategic, structured, and solution-oriented mindset
Fluent in both German and English
Willingness to travel as required within the project scope
