Aufgaben

The position offers a wide range of development opportunities in various engineering disciplines for young talents. You will work alongside the engineers (mechanic, testing, electric, control) as part of a young and dynamic team. Continued employment as a student is desirable.

Your tasks:
* Designing small functional assemblies for robots, test benches, etc.
* Researching and selecting usable machine elements and selecting suitable manufacturing methods
* FEM simulation, strength verification
* Design, creation of manufacturing documents
Assembly and commissioning, trialling and testing

Qualifikation

What you should bring with you:
* High motivation
* Good CAD skills in professional systems
* Practical skills are an advantage (drilling, sawing, screwing, crimping, soldering)
* Quality awareness
* Language: Good knowledge of German or English
* Beneficial: FEM simulation

At YardStick Robotics, we design cobots for environments most robots were never meant to enter. Where dust, heat, pressure, vibration, and corrosion make automation difficult — we make it possible. We don’t believe robots should replace people. We believe they should take on the jobs people shouldn’t have to do — so we can focus on what makes us human. The YardStick Robotics GmbH, or YARO for short, is a start-up founded in 2023. Our team combines expertise in the fields of control, simulation, electronics and design.

Short distances, an open culture of communication, several laboratories and interdisciplinary collaboration offer you the opportunity to build up broad expertise during your student work. You will have the chance to interact with employees who have many years of experience in research and development in various disciplines of robotics.

We are part of the Rheinmetall technology center. The Rheinmetall Technology Center (RTC) is primarily involved in technology development across the Group. The overall objective is to create synergies within the company. The RTC team looks across the different business areas and identifies problems in a wide range of technologies and enables them to be pursued and developed into concepts and early demonstrators to open up new market and product segments.
