Do you want to bring your mathematical and coding skills into space? The Propulsion & Environment Analysis Team at OHB is looking for an engineer passionate about applied mathematics, scientific computing, and the design of space systems. In this role, you will develop advanced simulation tools, create and refine models, and apply them to OHB various and exciting space projects (around Earth, Mars, Moon, Venus, Comets, Asteroids and many more). The tools and analyses you build will directly influence spacecraft design, contamination control, and propulsion systems, while supporting both internal teams and external partners. Join us and put your mathematics into orbit.
Your Tasks

- Training internal and external users to master these tools
- Explore and integrate new approaches such as Large Language Models (LLMs) and AI-based methods to accelerate and enhance our simulation workflows and user support
- Apply your models to real OHB space projects, in areas such as:
- Space environment analysis (contamination, venting, Atomic Oxygen)
- Propulsion plume simulations (chemical and electric)
- Communication of results to internal and external clients
- Publication of significant work in conferences
Your Qualifications
- Master’s degree in applied mathematics, physics, aerospace engineering, or a related field
- Strong scientific programming skills (Python preferred)
- Knowledge of meshing or visualization tools (e.g., Salome, gmsh, ParaView) is a plus
- Analytical mindset, adaptability, and problem-solving drive
- Excellent communication skills and fluency in English
