Our Spacecraft Operations Development team ensures that our customers have all the tools and capabilities they need to operate our spacecraft safely and efficiently.
To make that possible, we rely on smart, reliable, and well‑designed software tools.
This is where you come in.
We are looking for a Software Engineer who wants to contribute to the development and maintenance of these tools, ensuring compliance with current standards and internal security requirements.
You will also have the opportunity to learn how satellite operations are conducted, combining the best of both worlds: space engineering and computer science.

Your Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science (or a closely related field such as Software Engineering or Information Technology).
Programming:
- Proficiency in Python (development, automation, scripting).
- Knowledge in other languages like TCL or Java could be beneficial.
Operating Systems:
- Solid understanding of Linux and Windows environments.
Protocols and Network Knowledge:
- Understanding of network protocols, firewalls, routing, and secure communication principles.
Software Engineering Practices:
- Experience with software testing (unit, integration, and/or system testing).
Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
Security Awareness:
- Understanding of secure software development and compliance with internal security requirements.
Language Skills
- English: Mandatory, both spoken and written, with the ability to communicate clearly in a technical environment.
- German: Strong advantage for internal communication and customer interaction.
Soft Skills
- Curiosity and willingness to learn, especially about space systems and satellite operations.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with different teams.
- Patience and attention to detail, particularly when dealing with complex systems or operational scenarios.
- Problem‑solving mindset with the ability to approach issues methodically and creatively.
Nice to Have (Optional but Valuable)
- Familiarity with satellite operations or space systems.
- Experience with automation tools and DevOps practices.
- Experience working in a regulated or standard‑driven environment (e.g., ECSS).
