We’re growing our Propulsion & Environment Analysis Team and are looking for a passionate and skilled Space Debris Mitigation & Analysis Engineer who’s ready to make a real impact.
Your Tasks
As our
Space Debris Mitigation & Analysis Engineer, you’ll play a central role in
ensuring our satellites meet (and exceed) international Clean Space standards —
from early design to final orbit. Around comets, asteroids, the earth, the
moon, other planets (Venus and Mars), you will apply this knowledge on all OHB
exciting missions.
You'll help make our missions:
- Resistant to micro-debris impacts
- Capable of smart collision avoidance manoeuvre
- Compliant with visibility limits (Dark Nights, Quiet Skies initiative)
- Safe and sustainable at End-of-Life
What You’ll Do:
- Lead and support debris impact and collision risk analyses for ongoing projects
- Develop and maintain Space Debris Mitigation Plans across project phases (0/A/B/C)
- Perform End-of-Life assessments and propose de-orbiting strategies
- Work closely with satellite system engineers to integrate mitigation from day one
- Stay ahead of evolving ESA/Clean Space regulations
Whatever you have experience with DRAMA, MASTER, Systema/Debris, Python coding or not, we want to hear from you.
Your Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Space Science, Physics, or a related technical field
- Proven experience in space debris analysis, or satellite system engineering is highly desirable
- Solid understanding of space debris environment, collision risk assessment, and mitigation techniques
- Familiarity with relevant software tools such as DRAMA, MASTER, Systema/Debris, or equivalent simulation platforms is a strong advantage
- Proficient in data analysis and comfortable working with Python or other programming languages for modeling and simulation purposes
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, adaptability, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams
