Because digital energy trading can't wait any longer: At EWE TRADING GmbH, we handle the energy trading activities of the EWE Group and act as the Group´s interface to the wholesale markets for power, natural gas, emission rights and renewable energy . As a working student supporting our team:
- You’ll assist in developing Python code for our data processing and modelling jobs
- You’ll help maintain and improve existing code, e.g. by applying new best practices
- You’ll support to run services on our Kubernetes cluster in the AWS cloud
- You’ll troubleshoot and fix issues in our production services, in close collaboration with the service owners
- You’ll explore strategies, depending on the task at hand, and discuss plausibility and implications before implementing the solution
- You’ll be part of a motivated interdisciplinary team focused on energy market analysis as well as weather forecasting
What you provide:
- Currently enrolled as a student (5th semester or above) in computer / data science, mathematics, physics or a related field
- Interest in a long-term working student position, ideally more than two semesters
- Working in a conscientious and structured manner, with an analytical mindset
- Solid Python skills and the ability to solve tasks independently and efficiently
- Basic understanding of Pytest, Pandas, Git, Docker and Kubernetes is desirable
- Initial experience in data processing, working with databases and REST APIs, as well as CI/CD practices and cloud computing with AWS
- Interested in embracing a DevOps mindset and taking responsibility for your code
- Motivation to dive into new topics and actively contribute your ideas
- Desire to collaborate closely within the team rather than work alone
- Good communication skills in English, fluency in German is an advantage
