As Head of Data & AI, you will provide enterprise ‑ wide leadership for this ambition. You will shape the strategic direction, build a global and cross ‑ functional operating model, and work closely with senior leaders across the company to ensure data and AI are used responsibly to innovate how Bachem operates and to deliver measurable business value.

Your tasks:

• Own and continuously evolve the enterprise Data & AI agenda as an integral part of Bachem’s strategy, focused on business outcomes.
• Lead the establishment of a global, federated Data & AI operating model, enabling innovation and solution delivery while maintaining shared standards and accountability.
• Partner with senior leaders across functions to identify, prioritize, and scale high ‑ value use cases, delivered through agile, cross ‑ functional teams with clear outcome ownership.
• Build, lead, and develop a multidisciplinary global Data & AI organization, fostering collaboration, trust, and continuous learning.
• Define and run enterprise data governance for ownership and quality, strengthening data maturity across the organization.
• Build human ‑ centered design, user experience, change management, and training capabilities to drive adoption and a user ‑ centric experience.
• Co ‑ own the enterprise data and AI architecture, ensuring platforms and solutions are scalable, secure, and fit for a regulated environment.

Your profile:

• Senior leadership experience in data, analytics, and AI, with responsibility for strategy, governance, and enterprise ‑ level delivery.
• A proven ability to lead cross ‑ functional transformation and influence senior stakeholders in complex, global organizations.
• A strong understanding of modern data and AI platforms and architectures, and how to apply them pragmatically in regulated settings.
• Experience building or operating federated models that balance enterprise alignment with local ownership and innovation.
• A people ‑ first leadership style, with a demonstrated commitment to inclusive teams, talent development, and psychological safety.
• Confidence working with ambiguity, making informed decisions, and creating alignment across diverse perspectives.
• Fluency in English; German is an advantage.
