The Substrate Mapping professional acts as the key interface between customers and internal map handling standard software development or related solution implementation teams for all topics regarding substrate, wafer and die map handling. The role ensures that customer processes, data formats, and quality requirements are correctly understood, translated, and implemented in the map handling standard software or related solutions that support semiconductor manufacturing from wafer test through assembly and final test. The professional possesses in depth knowledge of the critical stages of semiconductor manufacturing, with a strong focus on wafer test and chip assembly, and maintains a high level understanding of adjacent process stages, including front end wafer fabrication and final test.
Your Tasks
- Act as primary technical contact for customers regarding wafer, substrate and test data handling
- Analyze customer manufacturing flows across wafer test, assembly and final test
- Translate customer requirements into clear functional and technical software specifications
- Define and review software concepts for map handling and semiconductor data integration
- Ensure consistency and correctness of mapping and test data across process stages
- Collaborate closely with software development teams during implementation and validation
- Support deployment, troubleshooting and customer issue resolution
- Identify risks, inconsistencies and improvement opportunities in complex manufacturing data flows
- Contribute to best practices and documentation for semiconductor map handling solutions
Your Profile
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or comparable technical field
- Strong IT / software background with understanding of software architecture, data models and interfaces, system integration, industrial software solutions ideally with a background in manufacturing IT or MES environments
- Experience in semiconductor manufacturing, preferably in Wafer Test / Wafer Sort, Assembly, Final Test
- Solid knowledge of semiconductor data formats and standards such as SEMI E142, SECS/GEM (E5), E183, G85, STDF
- Ability to analyze complex technical data flows and translate them into software requirements
- Experience working at the interface between customers, engineers and software development teams
- Strong analytical and structured communication skills
- Fluent English required, German skills are a plus
