Your role:

M Ventures is the corporate venture capital arm of our company. Our mandate is to invest in innovative technologies and products with the potential to significantly impact our company's core business areas. M Ventures is comprised of a Biotechnology Team that covers investments in Healthcare and Life Science, and a Technology Team that focuses on investments in Electronics and Frontier Tech & Sustainability.

In this role at M Ventures you will invest into the most cutting-edge startups with digital businesses that are strategically relevant to our parent company.

Concrete tasks include:

• Generating high-quality deal flow through your investor- and founder network, conferences and other industry gatherings.
• Managing incoming deal flow, organizing the evaluation process, including due diligence meetings and expert reviews.
• Performing technical and financial due diligence and coordinate with internal and external experts that support the diligence process.
• Performing the valuation of deals via benchmarks and business cases.
• Negotiation and execution of equity investments and other transactions together with senior members of the team.
• Establishing a prioritized portfolio of key contacts to potential investment targets, to investors and to scientists/academics.
• Driving projects to decisions by aligning key internal and external stakeholders via transparent communication.

Who you are:

You have a significant understanding of Digital/Software technologies with a focus on AI, the broader Digital Ecosystem and -value chains including digital business models combined with a solid understanding of Venture Capital investing.

This translates into the following minimum requirements:

• MSc degree in a relevant scientific discipline, with a preference for Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or natural sciences (Physics, Chemistry or Material Science) with strong computational focus.
• Absolutely necessary is the following work experience (min. 6 years):
• Min. 2 years of work experience in an investment role at a digital-focused Venture Capital Firm and min. 4 years of operational experience in a corporate, startup or consulting.
• Alternatively, min. 6 years of work experience as a founder of a digital startup including fundraising experience.
• Alternatively, min. 6 years of work experience in a relevant position at a tech company combined with initial exposure to startup & VC ecosystem (e.g. VC internship)

• VC know-how:
• Pre-existing network of VC investors (institutional and corporate), allowing to immediately contribute high-quality, proprietary deal flow.
• Basic understanding of VC transactions, capitalization tables, legal documents, and preparing investment memorandums.
• Soft skills:

• Experience working with a diverse and international team.
• Strong analytical skills, ability to drive the generation of business case/plan and provide technical/ scientific inputs.
• Your level of English is excellent (Written, Oral, Negotiations).
