Join Our Team as a Subject Matter Expert for Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM)

We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Subject Matter Expert in Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) to support the optimization of our TPRM processes, enhancing our procurement operations globally. In this critical role, you will provide specialized expertise throughout the TPRM lifecycle: from third-party intake and risk tiering to due diligence, contracting, ongoing monitoring, and offboarding. This is an opportunity to contribute to standardization and innovation, leveraging your insights to ensure our processes are efficient and compliant with regulatory standards.

Your Role:

  • Expert Guidance: Provide subject matter expertise in TPRM processes, collaborating with stakeholders across Procurement, Sectors, Legal, Compliance, and Risk to support the development of a unified global framework.

  • Framework Support: Assist in the design and maintenance of a comprehensive TPRM framework that aligns with Merck policies and meets compliance obligations.

  • Risk Integration: Support the integration of TPRM practices into procurement and contracting workflows, ensuring effective application of risk considerations.

  • Efficiency Enhancement: Contribute to the management of TPRM tool requirements, focusing on data quality and user adoption to improve overall process efficiency.

  • Change Support: Assist in communicating process changes, governing deviations, and developing training materials to promote understanding and compliance across the organization.

  • Performance Insights: Help define and track TPRM KPIs, utilizing insights to support continuous improvements in risk management and operational performance.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Prepare informative presentations and decision papers for senior leadership, ensuring alignment on priorities and risk management strategies.

Who You Are:

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., business, law, risk management).

  • 5+ years of experience in TPRM, operational risk, compliance, or procurement governance, with a focus on the third-party lifecycle.

  • Strong understanding of regulatory implications for third-party relationships, with a commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.

  • Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at various levels.

  • Excellent communication skills, capable of translating complex risk topics into clear business decisions.
