For a leading international group in a highly dynamic and regulated environment, we are searching for an entrepreneurial Business Unit Director to lead and grow a major business across Germany and Austria.
This role combines full P&L responsibility, strong strategic steering, and hands-on commercial execution. You will lead a large organization with a strong field force and key account setup, drive sales effectiveness, and shape a future-proof portfolio and growth agenda in one of the company's most relevant European markets.
This is a highly autonomous leadership role with clear visibility in the group and a strong pathway towards broader general management responsibilities.
Aufgabengebiet
- Full P&L ownership for the business in Germany & Austria, including growth, profitability, and portfolio steering
- Define and execute the commercial strategy across key customer channels and stakeholder groups
- Drive Sales Effectiveness, including performance management, structure, incentives, and execution excellence
- Lead a multi-layered organization with direct reports and second-line leadership responsibility
- Navigate a global matrix environment, ensuring alignment with governance, regional and global stakeholders
- Lead and deliver transformation initiatives across the commercial organization (field force, KAM, processes)
- Build a culture of accountability, ownership, and customer-centricity
Anforderungsprofil
- 10+ years of senior leadership experience with proven P&L responsibility
- Track record in leading large, multi-layered teams (50+ employees) including second-line leaders
- Strong success in corporate / matrix environments (governance, alignment, stakeholder complexity)
- Clear commercial & sales orientation within the German market context
- Proven experience leading commercial transformation (sales structures, field force, KAM, go-to-market)
- Strong influence, customer-centric mindset, and high stakeholder effectiveness
- Fluent German and English
- Nice to Have: Background in Animal Health or adjacent regulated industries
- MBA or comparable qualification
