About the role
- Facilitate commodity accounting closing processes with precision, ensuring month, quarter, and year-end activities run smoothly while driving continuous improvement.
- Reconcile performance reporting (full fair value view) with IFRS and local standards, upholding the highest levels of accuracy and compliance.
- Post unrealised derivatives and accruals for realised transactions, maintaining robust data integrity.
- Collaborate with the Accounting Data team to advance transparency, consistency, and support automation across data streams.
- Analyse accounting data to identify and resolve process or system-related issues, providing management with valuable insights.
- Support a variety of accounting-related projects, contributing to the transformation and resilience of the business.
Job requirements and experience
- Analytical and solution-focused mindset, confident working with complex data.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Access.
- Solid knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and/or German accounting standards (HGB).
- Clear and effective communication skills in English, fostering transparency and collaboration across teams.
- Proactive and team-oriented, motivated by contributing to shared success and continuous improvement.
Advantageous, but not essential
- Experience with SAP or S/4HANA
- Familiarity with SQL
- Background in audit
- Experience within commodity trading
- Knowledge of risk management, valuation, or controlling
