Advanced Quality Excellence Engineer
In this role you will play a central role in advancing our quality standards and ensuring operational excellence within our high-tech semiconductor manufacturing facility in Dresden. You will lead data-driven quality improvement initiatives, drive structured process change management, and perform in-depth analysis using statistical process control (SPC) systems. Your work will directly influence product quality, manufacturing stability, and efficiency, while offering exceptional exposure to global best practices and a strong platform for long-term professional and technical development in an international environment. As part of this position, you will have the unique opportunity to complete a comprehensive 12-month training assignment at our mother fab in Taiwan. This immersive program equips you with deep hands-on expertise in manufacturing processes, quality systems, SPC frameworks, and change governance according to TSMCs word-leading practice — providing the foundation to operate independently and at expert level upon your return to Germany. The training will start shortly after the start date on October 1st. 2026.
Tasks
YOUR IMPACT:
- Continuously monitor wafer fabrication processes, (equipment parameters, manufacturing operations, incoming materials) and perform analysis of critical quality events and wafer quality indicators.
- Proactively identify areas for improvement.
- Ensure consistent maintenance of daily routine quality tasks, including pre-checks and Change Control Board processes.
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for the AQES systems.
- Develop, implement, and maintain robust manufacturing process controls through advanced Statistical Process Control (SPC) methodologies.
- Champion the integration and promotion of statistical process control and intelligent process quality control knowledge.
- Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of various quality systems related to wafer fabrication processes and facilities.
- Apply process change management and risk control principles, including understanding FCCB-related engineering change systems.
- Conduct KPI tracing and analysis, utilizing tools such as Ishikawa diagrams, to assess process performance.
- Manage and maintain change-related systems, facilitating and documenting scheduled Change Control Board (CCB) meetings.
- Coordinate and lead quality-related projects aimed at enhancing product quality, improving manufacturing efficiency, and boosting customer satisfaction.
- Perform independent work during scheduled weekend on-call rotations and/or on-duty shifts with a sense of urgency.
Profile
WHAT YOU BRING:
- Eligible to work in Germany
- Fluent in English (C1 level), with basic German language skills (B1 level). Mandarin Chinese is a strong plus.
- Motivated and available for ""on-the-job"" Training in Taiwan for 12 months.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Semiconductor Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Statistics, or a related engineering field.
- 1–6 years of relevant work experience; semiconductor experience and/or high-volume manufacturing is preferred.
- Strong fundamental computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Office/Outlook.
- Advanced data analytics skills (e.g., using Excel VBA, R, or similar tools); programming skills are preferred.
- Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing and design is an advantage.
- Displays a positive attitude and proficiency in collaborating within a team.
- Flexible and open-minded to work in a diverse and dynamic environment.
- Self-motivated, with strong resilience and perseverance.
