The Cluster of Excellence Physics of Life (https://physics-of-life.tu-dresden.de/en) is an interdisciplinary research center at TUD dedicated to quantitative biology and biophysics. It is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) and offers a wide range of support structures, including state-of-the-art light microscopy and advanced bio-image data science facilities in the outstanding Dresden environment.

At the Cluster of Excellence "Physics of Life”, the Research Group "Biophysical Mechanisms of Morphogenesis” (Dr. Elias Barriga)is looking for a highly motivated and ambitious
Technical Assistant (m/f/x)
(subject to personal qualification, employees are remunerated according to salary group E 9a TV-L)
starting as soon as possible. The full-time position is initially limited until December 31, 2032 (time limitation pursuant to TzBfG).
Tasks:
preparation, execution and documentation of complex biochemical, biophysical, molecular and cell biological experiments
preparation of recombinant DNA constructs using molecular biology techniques, cultivation of eukaryotic cell lines and E. coli and in vitro transcriptions
assistance with Xenopus and zebrafish husbandry workflows and GMO documentation
laboratory organization, taking into account the measures for occupational safety and maintenance of lab stocks and databases
ordering of lab supplies and assistance with related financial documentation
lab instruction of new group members, students and trainees
assistance with specific research goals within defined projects and collaborations
assistance with documentation and preparation of experimental results (e.g. images and data sets)
Requirements:
completed vocational training as a biological-technical assistant (BTA), chemical-technical assistant (CTA) with state recognition or as biological/chemical laboratory technician with equivalent knowledge and work experience
advanced knowledge of molecular and cell biology
experience with amphibian and fish animal systems is essential
excellent communication skills, especially in German and English (working language is English)
excellent PC skills (MS-Office, SAP, etc)
high motivation as well as the ability to work in an international team are required
several years professional experience in a comparable environment is required
