Die Beschreibung: Working Student | Embedded Systems & Linux Networking als Startup Werkstudent
Job description
At Meshmerize, we build wireless mesh networks for industrial robots and UAVs. We enable systems with reliable and resilient networks based on relatively inexpensive WiFi hardware by combining bleeding-edge research with the practical needs of the Industry 4.0.
Join us to build the future of networking and robotics!
We’re looking for a hands-on, curious student to support our work with embedded systems, Linux networking, and robotics. If you're passionate about low-level software, tinkering with hardware, and learning through real-world challenges, this might be the perfect role for you.
Your Role:
- Support the development and maintenance of embedded systems used in networking and robotics projects
- Write Python (and occasionally C) code for configuration tools, automation scripts, and device control
- Work directly with embedded Linux platforms: setup, configuration, debugging, and troubleshooting
- Contribute to hardware-related tasks: soldering, assembling test setups, and hands-on repairs
- Design and run WiFi performance benchmarks on embedded devices
- Document code, processes, and results to ensure team knowledge sharing and future reference
Job requirements
Your Profile:
- Solid understanding of Python and C programming (bonus: any exposure to Linux kernel internals)
- Confident working with Linux systems, especially via the command line
- Interest in embedded systems, networking, and low-level development
- Bonus points for experience with shell scripting, OpenWrt, cross-compiling, or interfaces like UART/GPIO
- Practical, problem-solving mindset—enjoys working on both hardware and software challenges
- Good communication skills in English
- Available for 10–20 hours per week
- Based in Dresden or nearby
What We Offer:
- A dynamic, international team focused on cutting-edge wireless networking and robotics
- Central office in Dresden with a collaborative, informal work environment
- Flexible working hours to accommodate your university schedule
- Personal mentorship and opportunities for professional growth
- Modern equipment and evolving responsibilities based on your interests and skills
- Hands-on experience in embedded systems, Linux networking, and real-world product development
Ready to get started?
We’re excited to hear from motivated students who want to dive into the world of embedded Linux and networking. Send us your CV and a short note about your interests or projects you've worked on.
