Your tasks

We are looking for reinforcements for the operation and further development of complex IT landscapes in the public sector. You can expect a remotely working, interdisciplinary team, modern technologies and the opportunity to actively participate in the further development of platform and automation landscapes.

In this role, you combine classic Linux administration with DevOps skills.
You manage a sophisticated Linux infrastructure, continuously develop it, and actively contribute to the development of modern operational and security concepts. Additionally, you are responsible for monitoring, logging, and automation solutions and support the stable and secure operation of heterogeneous platforms.

Linux & Platform Operation

• Administration and further development of complex Linux infrastructures (SLES)
• Implementation of best practices for operating system hardening
• User, role and account management
• Patch and Lifecycle Management
• Technical safeguarding of interfaces and systems

DevOps, Containers & Automation

• Setup, operation and further development ofcontainer-based environments
• Assistance with the operation ofKubernetes clusters
• Creation and maintenance of automations using Ansible, Puppet and existing tools.
• Using Git for version control and infrastructure.
• Support for CI/CD-related processes and standardized deployments

Monitoring, Security & SIEM

• Implementation and operation of monitoring solutions (Grafana, Icinga, Checkmk)
• Technical implementation of logging and audit concepts
• Identification of security risks and vulnerabilities, including assessment and recommendations for action.

Analysis, documentation & collaboration

• Conducting system tests
• Systematic technical and process-oriented documentation including risk assessment
• Presentation and explanation of analysis and audit results
• Participation in regular votes on status, measures and further development

Your profile

Technical

• Excellent knowledge of Linux administration (SLES)
• Experience with container technologies and Kubernetes
• Knowledge of automation (Ansible, ideally also Puppet)
• Safe handling of Git
• Experience with monitoring tools (Grafana, Icinga, Checkmk)
• Understanding of ITIL processes (Incident, Change and Release Management)

Personal

• Completed studies (e.g., computer science), IT training, or comparable qualification
• At least 3 years of professional experience in the administration of Linux systems and infrastructures
• Structured, responsible work ethic and interest in automation
• Excellent German skills at a native speaker level
