PHD Position at the Department of Developmental and Educational Psychology (m/f/d)
Your Workplace
Chair of Developmental Psychology and Educational Psychology
The successful candidate will be integrated into the ERC-funded PAR2 project, which explores parenthood as a transition in the social development of people and tries to elucidate genetic and environmental origins of individual variation in parenting. Two other early career researchers will be joining the project at the same time and the aim is to grow into an interdisciplinary research team that uses genetically-informed and multiple-generation data to understand social development across the lifespan. We collaborate closely with researchers at the University of Groningen, where a part of the PAR2 roject is located and the University Medical Centre Groningen, where data collection for the project takes place (see
www.trails.nl/eng
) as well as with colleagues at Deakin University and Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne. The position provides the opportunity to learn about gene-environment interplay in social development research and curve your own research line within the field of genetically-informed, longitudinal social development, child development, or family research. At FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg, the PAR2 team is part of a larger group of developmental psychologists who do research on various aspects of the family as context of development. The broader Institute of Psychology provides plenty of opportunities for collaboration and a welcoming and friendly environment in a vibrant city with access to both metropolitan areas and scenic nature.
